Our programs
The program is the heart of your year at Fana Folkehøgskule
Here you'll find your class, your community – and get the chance to delve into something you're truly passionate about.
Each week, you'll typically have around 13 hours of classes in your chosen line of study, where you'll learn, create, and explore alongside others who share your enthusiasm.
In addition, you choose 2-3 elective subjects per week, giving you space to try something new, challenge yourself, and develop new aspects of yourself. Throughout the week, the entire school also gathers for collective subjects – an important part of the strong community at Fana, where everyone contributes to making the year special.

collective subjects
Several times a week, the whole school gathers to collective subjects – an important part of teaching that creates unity and engagement.
Here, you'll encounter both new perspectives and shared experiences through lectures, discussions, and activities.
Together with your chosen line of study, the common subjects make up a large part of your school year, contributing to both academic and personal development within an inspiring community.
Seminars
On Saturdays, we have seminars at the school – a unique opportunity to explore exciting topics and learn something new. Many of the seminars are optional, so you can choose what interests you most, while others are mandatory for everyone.
The Saturday seminars give you inspiration, new knowledge, and the opportunity to delve into current and engaging topics together with the rest of the school.
