This is your year

As a student, you get to help decide the academic content and influence how the teaching is carried out.

We are focused on creating a good classroom environment and learning through well-being and participation.

Classroom teaching is combined with practical assignments, research projects, and group work. We watch films and visit institutions and organizations.

We collaborate with others programs at school for limited periods – for example with Visual Arts about the use of art in therapy and with Game Development about addiction.

Time for immersion and personal topics

You will have plenty of opportunity to immerse yourself in optional topics.

We have a class library for those who like to read and study on their own.

An introductory book on psychology is also included in the school fees. You can choose between a textbook intended for higher education or one for upper secondary school.

Study trip to Japan

The study trip to Japan is in the spring. Usually, the trip goes to Tokyo and Kyoto. There is also the possibility of visiting other cities such as Osaka on days off.

In addition to the social aspect and all the experiences, the trip forms a basis for learning about cultural psychology.

Prior to the study trip, you will learn about the country and its culture and customs.

Two students talk about what it's like to be a student in the psychology department at Fana Folkehøgskule .
