Electives
On Fana folkehøgskule You will have the opportunity to explore a wide range of exciting electives that give you the chance to both try something new and follow your interests.
Throughout the school year, electives are divided into four periods of around six weeks. In each period, you choose two new electives. These run over five hours a week and give you the opportunity to test out different interests across the curriculum.
Bouldering
Stay safe on the bouldering wall, without ropes and with thick mats underneath.
Sewing, needlework and redesign
Explore your creativity through sewing, crafts and redesign
Introduction to analog photography
Learn how to photograph using film and develop the pictures
A short introduction to the Norwegian language
Get your basic introduction to the Norwegian language
Magnet fishing
Magnet fishing involves using strong magnets to fish for metal waste on the seabed.
Philosophy and history of ideas
In this elective, we learn about philosophers and other thinkers. We look at what their most important ideas are, where they came from, and what they have meant for posterity.
Rubber band
This is the elective for you who want to take a break, have a cozy time with fellow students and trim the brain at the same time.
A tribute to the album
An elective for those interested in listening to entire albums and learning the stories behind them. We discuss genre, recording techniques, music history, etc.
