This is what the food is like at school
Our food philosophy is to think organically and locally.
We offer food that is good for both you and the environment. That's why we have homemade food with a solid emphasis on organic and locally sourced products.
Varied menu and cozy meals
The menu is varied, so everyone will find something they like. It's a nice mix of international dishes, vegetarian meals, traditional Norwegian food and just plain, good, homemade food.
We emphasize that meals should be among the highlights of the day.
On Fana folkehøgskule We serve organic, homemade bread every day.
We eat all our meals together in the school's pleasant dining room. A good meal is a social gathering around appetizing food.

We start the day with a good breakfast consisting of cereals, bread, a variety of spreads, fruit and vegetables.

For lunch we usually have freshly baked bread and soup, hot snacks or bread with a variety of toppings.

The food is made from scratch as much as possible and is based on good ingredients. The menu is adapted to the seasons and gives you a varied, healthy and good diet.

We basically serve quite a lot of vegetarian food at Fana. If you want a completely vegetarian diet, just let us know. With us, there is no extra charge for choosing vegetarian.
Vegans and students with allergies or food intolerances receive food adapted to their diets for an additional fee.
Sustainable meals
We care for the environment through what we eat. At Fana folkehøgskole we make sustainable meals. That means:
1) The food is made from scratch
2) Lots of vegetables, legumes and grains
3) We think about the season when we create the menu
4) We make conscious choices about fish and meat
5) Measures to reduce food waste
6) Lots of organic food
