  • You are applying for a place at folkehøgskole . Write a little about yourself and why you want to attend. folkehøgskole .

    After submitting your application, you will quickly receive a response from us. You will then have a few days to consider your decision before accepting or declining the offer.

    We start the admission process on February 1st and continue to admit students until the start of the school year or until the courses are full.

    • The application is non-binding, and you are free to decline if you change your mind.

    • You do not need general university admissions certification.

    • You can get financial support from the Norwegian State Educational Loan Fund. Read more about support from the Loan Fund here.

  • Folk high schools start the admission process on November 15th. If you apply before then, you will not receive a response to your application before November 15th. If you apply after the deadline, you will receive a response immediately.

    International students and students who need to apply for funding for adapted education can receive a response to their application before November 15th.

  • Yes, we do, and there's no extra charge for eating vegetarian. Just let us know that you're a vegetarian.

  • If you need a doctor's appointment during the year, it is much easier to have a regular doctor in your area. Bergen than going to the emergency room. We ask everyone to change to a GP in Bergen before they come to school.

    You can change your general practitioner at helsenorge.no.

  • Travel insurance is included in the school fees, but it only covers trips organized by the school. Other trips are not covered by this insurance.

    You need a valid passport for the study trip. Get this in order during the summer. It is much easier if you have it done before you arrive. Bergen .

    We recommend that you take out your own home contents insurance, or check whether you are covered by your family's home contents insurance. The school's insurance does not cover the loss of private property.

  • If you need a single room, you must contact the school before the start of the school year. We recommend that you stay in a double room, but those who need to stay in a single room for various reasons usually get their own room.

    If you live in a single room, you pay a single room supplement of NOK 8,900.

  • You can have visitors at the school. You can receive guests who come for a day visit whenever you want, but if they want to eat at the school, we need to be notified.

    You must give notice at least two days before you have overnight visitors. Guests pay NOK 200 per night for food and accommodation when they stay in student rooms, and NOK 300 per night when they rent their own room. It is possible to rent bed linen for overnight guests.

    Occasionally, there are events at the school that prevent us from accommodating overnight guests, but most of the time it is not a problem.
