Contents of the school agreement
As a new student, you will be asked to enter into an agreement with us regarding your place at the school. You can read the general content of such an agreement below.

Binding agreement on school placement between the student and Fana folkehøgskule (North and Midthordland University College Association) is entered into when:
The student has received an offer for a place at the school.
The student has paid the registration fee.
The student has signed the "Agreement Regarding a Place at the School."

The registration fee must be paid by the deadline stated in the admission letter. The registration fee is non-refundable if the student later withdraws their place after the withdrawal deadline. If the student does not pay the registration fee by the specified deadline, they risk the place being offered to another applicant.
School fees are due according to the payment plan sent out before the start of the school year. The school fees cover all tuition, board and lodging in a double room, shared expenses, joint school trips, and course-related trips.
There may be additional costs for certain optional subjects and voluntary seminars.
Students who live in single rooms pay an additional fee per semester.
The line cost is an estimated amount that will be settled against actual consumption at the end of the school year.
Failure to pay school fees may result in the loss of your place at the school.
Course-related trips are mandatory. These are included in the school fees and are part of the payment plan.
The student pays a deposit. Any loss of keys and inadequate cleaning of the room will be deducted from the deposit before it is returned at the end of the school year.
Students who withdraw from their place at the school during the last week before the start of the school year must pay a cancellation fee of 5000 NOK.
Students who drop out during the school year must pay school fees for the following six weeks. This applies regardless of the reason for discontinuing the school year. The student will also be charged for any costs associated with joint school trips and course-related trips that cannot be canceled at the time of resignation, as well as other incurred costs.

It is assumed that there are enough students to start the course the student has been offered a place on. If there are too few students, the student will be offered a place on another course. program at the school. The school reserves the right to change the study options without prior notice.

The school is responsible for the preparation and implementation of the teaching program.

Students have the right to use the school's areas, equipment, and facilities for their own training and activity after ordinary teaching hours.
Fana folkehøgskule is not responsible for:
the student's possible financial loss as a result of loss of objects at the school, on school trips, course-related trips, or in their free time
student's actions or omissions during the school year.
If the course offering is temporarily suspended due to strike or other circumstances beyond the school's control, the school cannot be held liable for compensation.
The school is not responsible for force majeure events.
Fana folkehøgskule cannot be held liable for loss or damage resulting from the acts or omissions of third parties

You are insured for accidents/medical disability with coverage up to 10 G and up to 0.5 G for treatment expenses through the school's insurance.
The school purchases travel insurance that covers study trips and travels organized by the school. The travel insurance through the school only covers travels organized by the school.
You must obtain your own contents insurance for your private equipment. Usually, you are covered by your parents' contents insurance until the year you turn 20.

Participation. As a student at Fana folkehøgskule You commit to participating and contributing to teaching, practical work and events. Necessary absences must be agreed in advance. You must find a substitute when necessary.
Order and cleanliness. As a student, you are obliged to help with maintaining order and cleanliness, both indoors and outdoors.
Quiet time. Quiet time must be observed between 11:00 PM and 7:00 AM on the school grounds.
Behavior. Violence, offensive language, and behavior (bullying, theft, discrimination, racist remarks, sexual harassment) are not accepted in any form - whether physical, verbal, or digital.
Drug-free school. All use and storage of alcohol or other drugs are prohibited on school grounds. This also applies to all events and trips organized by the school, unless otherwise specified in writing. If students are under the influence of intoxicants, they are not allowed access to the school's common areas.
Rules for study trips. The lines develop their own rules for study trips.
Violation of the regulations. The school's disciplinary committee handles violations of the regulations. Violation of the regulations may result in loss of the school place.

School employees have the right to enter student rooms to ensure students' health, welfare, and safety or to perform necessary maintenance.
The student must be notified in reasonable time before such inspections or maintenance work is carried out.

The school asks students to provide information about health conditions that require special arrangements from the school before the start of the school year.
