The horror play “The Woman in Black” ran for an incredible 33 years in London theatres and has been seen by over seven million audiences. This evening, students and staff travel to the theatre to be scared together.
The theater's website states:
A lawyer is haunted by a curse he believes has been placed on him and his family by the ghost of the Woman in Black . He hires a skeptical actor to help him tell his terrifying story and exorcise the fear that has taken hold of his soul. It starts innocently enough, but as they delve deeper into his darkest memories, they find themselves trapped in a world of eerie wetlands and raging winds.
The play; The Woman in Black , ran continuously for 13,232 performances in London from its premiere in 1989 to 2023, becoming the second longest-running play in London after Agatha Christie's "The Mousetrap", and is one of the greatest and most terrifying successes in British theatre.
This is a performance that celebrates theater's ability to draw the audience into a fiction – and is scarier than any horror movie!
