The annual Rafto Conference focuses on themes surrounding the year's Rafto Prize winner. Each year, the Rafto Prize winner is responsible for the main contribution during the conference.

The 2024 Rafto Prize goes to imprisoned Cuban art activist Luis Manuel Otero Alcántara. He receives the award for his fearless resistance to an authoritarian regime through art.

The students at Fana folkehøgskule will be able to join this year's conference and experience lectures by some of the world's leading experts in the subject.

Raftostiftelsen er en politisk uavhengig organisasjon som arbeider for menneskerettigheter. Siden 1987 har stiftelsen tildelt Raftoprisen til forsvarere av menneskerettigheter og demokrati, og nettverket av prismottakere består i dag av fremtredende personer fra hele verden. Den årlige Raftoprisen som deles ut i Bergen har høstet stor internasjonal anerkjennelse for å bringe ukjente stemmer frem i lyset.
