The goal of today's seminar is to look out at the world and together reflect on some of the major and important challenges we face.

Film from the South and the UN Association will present a program consisting of mini-lectures, film screenings and associated assignments.

In addition, we will present the folk high schools' GLOBAL Code of Conduct at the seminar.

Escape

The film we will see is called Escape . The film has won a number of international awards, been nominated for an Oscar three times, and won the Nordic Council Film Prize 2021.

What is it like to live with a refugee story that only you know? In the award-winning animated documentary Escape, Amin tells his own story for the first time, which he has kept hidden from both friends and his girlfriend for 20 years. Escape depicts despair, hope, cynical people smugglers, the search for a home – and the search for oneself.

With this program, students gain increased knowledge about the topic of people on the move.

Global Ethics Code

The Global Ethics Rules poster is a result of IU's work during the 2016-17 school year to focus on ethical challenges in the folk high schools' global engagement.

UN Association

FN-sambandet er en norsk organisasjon med hovedoppgave å informere om FN og FNs arbeid. Fana folkehøgskule er en FN-skole og har vært år mange samarbeidsprosjekter med FN-sambandet.

Film from the South

Film from the South is Oslo's largest film festival with "See the world from a different angle" as its slogan, and presents films and filmmakers from Asia, Africa and Latin America.
