With the golden age of music videos, we are referring to the time between the late nineties and half a decade into the turn of the millennium, where a handful of directors led to music videos being defined as a separate medium for creativity.

We will consider what led up to this time, and provide a kind of overview of the slightly more modern contributions to the medium.
