Price for students who do not live at the school

We recommend everyone to live at the school, but you can choose to live somewhere else.

Students who do not live at the school do not pay for room rental. Tuition, meals at the school and all school activities are included in the school fees.

Prices for home residents for the 2026-2027 school year

Art, : 78,800 kroner

Music - band and tour: 63,100 kroner

Game development: 67,300 kroner

Psychology: 85,800 kroner

Human Rights and Courage: 76,800 kroner

Outdoor activities and ecology: 75,300 kroner

Students at Norwegian Language and Culture should live at the school and not live at home.

What are you paying for?

• Enrollment fee (NOK 3,000) Paid when you accept the school place.
• Living allowance (DKK 26,100) All meals at the school and a share of the costs of cleaning the common areas
• The line costs vary on the different lines. They cover materials, equipment, books, excursions, study trips, etc. The line cost is an estimated sum that is settled against actual consumption at the end of the school year.
• Common costs : Expenses for joint trips, travel insurance, cultural events organized by the school, school picture, laundry, copying, free use of the internet, newspapers and other common expenses. (14,500,-)

Additional expenses

• You will need to set aside some pocket money both at school and on the study trip. With an average consumption, you will need about 2000 kroner per month.

NB! There is no supplement for vegetarian food.

Payment plan

• The first invoice is to be paid on 15 August. It costs NOK 6,000
• The second invoice is paid on September 1, when the Loan Fund makes its first payment.
• The last 8 payments are made on the 15th of each month (the same day that the Loan Fund disburses loans/grants).
• The price per month is adjusted to the price of the line and the payments from the Loan Fund.

Interrupted school year

If you cancel your school place during the period August 13 - August 23, 2026, this will incur a cost of NOK 5,000.

If you interrupt the school year after it has started, you must pay tuition fees for the following 6 weeks. This applies regardless of the reason for interrupting the school year.

Loans and scholarships

You can get support from the Loan Fund when you go to folkehøgskole . For the school year 2025/2026 you can be paid up to NOK 151,697 . 60 percent of this sum is a loan, 40 percent is a loan that will be converted into a scholarship when you are approved for your year at folkehøgskole To have a loan converted into a scholarship, you cannot have undocumented absences that exceed 10 percent.
